My name is Angelika Mikosz. I am a 22 year old Polish student, living in the south of Ireland. I am a student at University College Cork, currently undergoing a degree in Arts (Spanish and Chinese). In this course, we were asked to choose many different modules and this particular module (Translating Business, Culture and Society in the Hispanic World) was one of the first that caught my eye. The idea of creating my own portfolio and going deeper into the translation process really interests me. My goals are to graduate, become a translator and travel/work abroad. I took an interest in the work of José Zuleta Ortiz, a brilliant poet and short story writer from Colombia. As part of this module, I am going to translate one of his works called “Un perrito color té claro”.
